Some of the best kayakers in the nation were in Cascade this weekend for the Ford National Freestyle Championships.

Kelly’s Whitewater Park opened just last year, and already it’s hosted a national championship event.

It was a great opportunity for thousands of fans to get a glimpse at some world-class paddlers. But it was, perhaps, an even greater opportunity for the city of Cascade.
